Photoshop Won't Copy Text to the Clipboard

Quick tip for those frustrated that they can't copy and paste text from Photoshop into another program.

I spent a little while googling for a reason why I couldn't copy text from Photoshop CS5 and then paste it into another program (Visual Studio in my case).

The behavior was new since CS5 - I've been copying text out of Photoshop for as long as I can remember. It's part of my routine as a web developer.

I finally gave up on the "try reinstalling or restarting" useless bleating and looked in the Photoshop preferences for something that appeared related.

Turns out there's a checkbox in the General section that says "Export Clipboard," and surprise, mine wasn't checked. Upon checking the box, I finally got the behavior I expected.

Hope this saves you some time...
